About Dr. Colleen Catera DMD
Dr. Colleen Catera has been practicing General and Cosmetic Dentistry for over 16 years.
She received her degree as Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine and has practiced in both New York State and the State of Connecticut.
Returning to Long Island where she was raised, Dr. Catera opened her practice in West Babylon in October of 2011. Her office is equipped with state of the art technology including digital x-rays and intra-oral cameras to provide the best diagnostic tools for her patients.
The cornerstone of her practice is establishing honest and open relationships with patients. She is a caring practitioner treating her patients with respect, kindness and compassion, especially to those with dental anxiety. Dr. Catera provides patients with an exceptional level of restorative, cosmetic and preventative dental care.
Dr. Catera takes many hours of continuing education courses each year focusing on the latest trends, technology and procedures in Dental Medicine. She also participates in study clubs, sponsored by local oral surgeons and periodontists.
She has been a member of the ADA (American Dental Association) since 1997 and is currently an active member of the Suffolk County Dental Society.
One of Dr. Cateras’ passions is giving back to the local community. She’s volunteered to provide free dental services to low income patients through charitable organizations in the State of Connecticut and most recently was a volunteer practitioner at the first annual “Dentistry From the Heart” event that was held in the Babylon office of Dr. David Scharf.
She has also given many presentations at schools in both New York and Connecticut.
Dr. Catera is married and her husband, Hayden, works in the office with her. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking, yoga and spoiling their two Chihuahua’s Pedro & Louis.
